Lynch’s women

If you looked at his body of work as a whole, it would seem that David Lynch doesn’t like women all that much. Most of them end up dead or trapped in tragic situations. Very few of his female characters “win”, no matter how strong their characters may seem.
And yet, Lynch obviously adores women; he loves filming them. Every woman in a David Lynch movie or TV series, even extras in the background, look perfect. I guess the best example of this is Isabella Rossellini in the two movies she made with Lynch, Blue Velvet and Wild at Heart. He filmed her like she was a work of art, a perfect women with no physical blemishes, no matter how many personality faults her character had. It’s hardly surprising Rossellini was treated so well by the great director; after all, she did date him for several years! If he’d made her look a bit fat, or dumpy (not sure how he’d manage that, to be honest) then I’m sure there would have been more than a few arguments in the bedroom.
This train of thought started me wondering how I could ever hope to secure a role in a David Lynch film. I’d have to work on my sultry expressions, my seductive walk and probably get some serious cosmetic surgery done. Although I understand that if you want treatments like Botox Bournemouth is the place to go round here! I suspect that as my best years are behind me, so are my chances of ever being spotted on the street by David and swept off to Hollywood to become his new muse. Ah well, a girl can still dream…
