Good Bond bad Bond

Good Bond bad Bond

Our previous Bonds, be it Pierce Brosnan or Sean Connery or Timothy Dalton or Roger Moore, Bond had 2 simple common things between these actors. They were boring and too goddamn lucky to get out of all situations alive without a scratch (besides a few exceptions). However the entry of Daniel Craig which set the reset button to the sequels all turned out for the good.

Twin Peaks Everywhere

Twin Peaks Everywhere

I always say you can judge the popularity of a movie, TV programme or even a song by how many times it is parodied or spoofed. Weird 1960s druggy drama “The Prisoner” is probably one of the most spoofed TV shows of all time, thanks to its catchphrases, beautiful setting and the fact that no-one really understood what was going on. Sounds like another TV show we all know and love, eh?

Twin Peaks may not be quite as popular More

Blue Velvet

Blue Velvet

Truly, David Lunch’s films are full of surrealistic and film noir elements that frustrate the audience and often remain underestimated. However, Lynch’s art is something unique and accessible to those, that expect to uncover the deeply implied meaning of these works rather than to those who would prefer just the next doze of action.
This is why David’s films remain both some of the most approved and criticised works of all times.

David Lynch’s Art Message

David Lynch's Art Message

Indeed, David Lynch is an example of a director in the movie industry who followed no stereotypes. He was the one to make a rapid progression in the world of cinema art and he brought the most peculiar and the strangest products in the industry. This is the reason why his art remains a mystery for many people who just do not know how such a work would possibly influence the spectators. However, many others consider his work a true More

The Elephant man

David Lynch has always been a controversial figure in the film industry. His movies are both confusing and with a deep meaning and at the same time quite clear to understand. Even after being widely criticized, his work, Eraserhead, draw the attention of some major producers and in 1980 Lynch directed the movie claimed by many to be the peak in his career, the best movie ever made by the director.

Not another Mulholland Theory–

There are numerous theories as to the essence of Mulholland Drive ranging from bribery to abortion, dissociative identity disorder to it was all a dream. All make for compelling reading, some of which I can relate to, others I feel are stabs in the dark and have as much to do with Lynch’s vision as a chemical peel

Which is what you may think about mine–

The first part to the Mulholland Drive plot is straightforward. Rita (Camilla) loses More

Eraserhead

Eraserhead

David Lynch’s movie, Eraserhead has been one of the most mysterious and confusing movies of all times. It is a surreal horror production that gained both a lot of hate and respect for Lynch since those who found the movie good actually loved Lynch art, but those who did not understand it claimed it was a waste of time both for the producers and the viewers. Released in March 1977, the movie was a whole Lynch creation -he produced in, More

The All Important Ending...

Has there ever been anything so contentious as the ending of all-time TV great Twin Peaks?

David Lynch has really got it in the neck over the years for his handling of film endings; not only that, of course—fans have united, split into separate factions and protested about the meaning of his films to the point where finding the meaning is virtually impossible. Would we have been truly happy if everything was cut and dry in Twin Peaks? More

Dune 1984

posted by admin in Uncategorized

In 1984 David Lynch took up the mantle of re-creating the classic science fiction story; Dune for the big screen. It was met by largely negative critical reviews for its clumsy plot. Confusing and unexplainable digressions from the novel and the omission of several key characters who are important to the plot.

While these comments are all true, not much was said about what Lynch did right, and this is where I come in with this article. Yes, some of More

The Money Shot

I love Mulholland Dr. That should really go without saying; I don’t really know anyone who claims to be a David Lynch fan who would not agree that Mulholland Dr. is the best movie to ever come out of Hollywood. This is ironic considering the subtle kick that Lynch gives Hollywood by literally making Los Angeles Purgatory in the beginning. There are lots of different ways to view this movie, and it seems there are just as many arguments between people trying to convince each other that one way is correct.

I think that is what makes this film so good. To be able to create something that so many people can take in such drastically different ways is incredible, and the true meaning of creating art. I personally believe that it is quite a simple movie, and should be looked at as a whole rather than chronologically. It is a chopped up version of a real story combined with a fantasy sequence that is introduced because of the destruction of love and the main character going a little bit psycho. I know it is not as simple as that, but it is really not that much more complicated either. Anyways, I am sure that with a future post I will go into the meanings of Mulholland Dr…

Right now I am re-watching the series Twin Peaks, which never really ceases to amaze me. Having been introduced to David Lynch one day in art school by my teacher randomly turning on Eraserhead, the scope of what he does has never failed to impress me since. I look forward to many more updates!
